1. Undersized

Skill:

Recognized for his defensive handling of the puck and mobility

Scouting Report:

Incredibly agile and very level-headed.  Dustin has a sharp sense of the game and eye for the puck. He uses his body and mobility to his advantage.  He doesn’t give up bad goals.  His ability to scramble is sometimes a weakness, which leads to the opponent scoring. He has a clear perseverance and desire to learn and grow.  He has very smooth, lateral movement.  Dustin handles the puck really well; smoothly starts offensive transitions.

NHL Potential:

He absolutely has starting goalie potential.  He’s young, so more time to develop in the WHL will be to his benefit. His ended his second season with Everett as the Western Conference Goaltender of the Year, the CHL CIBC Scholastic Player of the Year, and a .936 SV%.  He can be a dark horse in the draft eligible goaltender crop.  A California native, he modeled his game after Jonathan Quick.  He is undersized which potentially lowered his value in the 2019 Draft.

Style compares to: Jonathan Quick
